Pierce, Norris, Pace & Associates, Architects & Engineers

This architectural & engineering firm was located at 1002 W. Wall, Midland TX.  Founded in the early 1950's, the firm was originally named Pierce, Norris, McCutchan, Pace & Associates.  In addition to the Midland office, the firm had offices in Dallas and Lovington, NM.  In 1956 it became Pierce, Norris, Pace & Associates.  The principals were Joe Bill Pierce, Walter L. Norris and Homer E. Pace.  Norris and Pace were graduates of Texas A&M University's architecture program.  I don't know where Pierce was educated.  In 1970 Walter Norris left Midland and established his own practice in the Dallas area.  At that time the firm became Pierce, Pace & Associates.  Their four Texas courthouses are still in use.  The courthouses in Van Horn and Daingerfield have been altered, with the addition of pitched roofs over the original flat roofs.
